• How is e-learning presented /considered or thought about within your own context?

E-Learning does not appear to be a high priority in my new school, especially in the science department where we only have 10 laptops to share and they dont work very well. Pupils can access a shared area from home where work sheets and powerpoints are more freely available if pupils lose homework sheets etc. Some rooms do have interactive whiteboards which are useful in explaining to pupils how scientific processes work.
In my experience the above is extremely useful when it comes to things pupils find hard to visualise and understand exactly what we are looking at.
My old school being an Academy had the money to invest more in electronic learning and we were moving towards doing assessments for AQA GCSE online. We invested heavily in online curriculum but the motivation wasnt there because pupils didnt use it much. I think it is vital that pupils have access if we want to maximise e learning in secondary schools.
